Lightness, Slowly

Original Abstract Oil Painting, Grey Blush Pink Lavender 80.3 x 80.3cm (31.6" x 31.6")

It was February, after the holidays, and I felt low.
It had been a hard year.

I let myself feel it.

Some seasons are heavy, and I let this one be.
Then, slowly, the thaw.
Lightness didn't arrive all at once.

It came the way spring reaches a frozen garden: a little warmth, one small bud, then another.
The grey never left. It became the sky that lets the blossoms show.
