Asuka Saito is a Japanese artist and the founder of miso and feta.

She grew up in a traditional Japanese home, where much was felt and little was said. For twenty years she took that quiet with her through Asia, Europe, and North America, gathering languages, faces, and weather.

A laugh that comes easily, and a heart that feels everything a little too deeply, the small words that linger, the tender places, the quiet doubt that sometimes walks beside her like an old companion.

When words fall short, she paints. Now back in Tokyo, she works in oil, letting color arrive the way feeling does, sometimes gently, sometimes all at once. Each canvas is a small act of listening.

miso and feta is named for two humble things, slowly made, from opposite ends of the earth. It is a home for work made the same way: slowly, and between worlds.
