Where the Night Turned Gold

Original abstract oil painting in gold, crimson, and deep night blue 80.3 x 80.3cm (31.6" x 31.6")

New Year's night in Matera. It was cold and so still, and I was alone, quietly in awe.

The night my heart went silent, and yet I felt so much. And somehow, I felt held by all of it.

The town glowed gold against the dark, and something in me lit up like fireworks. I felt content, exactly where I was.

There is a quiet beauty in solitude. A hope that asks for nothing. The night was deep, and the town glowed gold anyway.
